Chief Minister of West Bengal: Dr. B.C. Roy had a unique political journey in addition to his medical profession. He was West Bengal’s Chief Minister for 14 years, from 1948 to 1962. During his presidency, he instituted a slew of welfare initiatives, including the building of medical colleges, hospitals, and public health centres to increase healthcare access for the general population.

Architect of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS): Dr. Roy was involved in establishing the prominent All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi.
