ICC Ranking: Rishabh Pant Real Pride of India, Only Batsmen in Top 10 List Even After Facing Deadly Accident

ICC has recently announced the most recent Test batsmen ranking. Former New Zealand captain and senior player Kane Williamson has the highest number of points in this list. The World Test Championship final between India and Australia took place less than a month ago, and it has been nearly a month since then. Marnus Labuschagne of Australia was the number one player in Test cricket at the time. However, England’s Joey Root hit a century against Australia in the opening match of the Ashes series, raising him to the top of the Test rankings.

In the latest test rankings, KEN Williamson is on the top of list whereas Joe Root at number fi Marnus Labuschagne is now comfortably positioned third on the ICC ranking. Surprisingly, apart from Rishabh Pant no other Indian batsman is included in this list. It looks that Indian players who were earlier famous in the Indian Premier League (IPL) are not having much of an effect in international cricket, which is disappointing.

Men’s Test Ranking List

Rishabh Pant was once again a saviour for Team India.

Except for Rishabh Pant, none of the Indian batsmen have made the cut in the most recent ICC ranking. Rishabh Pant was involved in a deadly accident while travelling from Delhi to Roorkee in December of last year. As a result, he has been out of cricket since then and has been receiving treatment for his injuries on a daily basis. However, he posted a video on his Instagram account showing his improved fitness. He has clearly made tremendous progress in his recovery. Despite being out of play for a lengthy period of time, Rishabh Pant has managed to maintain his tenth-place rating in the ICC Test ranking.

Pant’s absence was visible in the WTC final.

Australia secured a convincing victory over India in the WTC final, winning by a significant margin of 209 runs. Unfortunately, the Indian batting performance fell short in both innings of the match. Despite Ajinkya Rahane and Shardul Thakur’s commendable half-century innings in the first innings, they couldn’t guide the team to victory. It was in times like these that the absence of Rishabh Pant was sorely felt in Team India.

Indeed, Rishabh Pant delivered a remarkable and “match-winning” performance in his previous Test against Australia. What’s more, he even scored a century in the very same venue where the final match took place. With such a phenomenal track record, having Rishabh Pant in the lineup would undoubtedly bolster Team India and strengthen their chances.
