Meta, the company that owns Facebook and Instagram, has now recently announced, its Meta verification subscription service is available in India. This announcement comes after approximately five weeks since the company started accepting names for the waitlist in the country.
Mark Zuckerberg, in his Instagram post, announced that Meta Verified is now available in India, with availability in the United Kingdom, Canada, and Brazil coming soon as well.
He also mentioned that any accounts that were previously verified will retain their verified status on both Instagram and Facebook without any additional cost.

In March 2023, Mark Zuckerberg’s announced that Meta Verified in India will cost Rs 599 per month for web subscriptions (Facebook only). For Android and iOS users, the subscription to the Meta Verified plan will be Rs 699 a month.
How can you subscribe to Meta Verified?
Requirements: To qualify for Meta Verified, your Meta account needs to fulfill certain minimum activity criteria, such as having a history of previous posts. Additionally, the User must be at least 18 years old.
Select and Pay: Afterward, users need to choose the profile they wish to get verified and set up their payment method.
Verify: Applicants need to submit a government ID (Aadhar Card, Pan Card, or Voter ID) that matches the name and photo on the Facebook or Instagram account they are applying for verification. If the verification request is rejected, the paid amount will be refunded.

Similar to the Twitter Blue subscription, Meta Verified also offers a few benefits. Mark Zuckerberg says that Meta verification aims to enhance authenticity and security across their services.

The company also claims that by paying the monthly fees, users can expect their content to gain more visibility and reach a wider audience. This means that their posts will appear more often in people’s feeds, search results, and comments.
Subscribers will also receive special stickers for Stories and Reels on Facebook and Instagram. Additionally, they will be given 100 Stars per month on Facebook to support other creators, where available.
