India’s last Test match was played in Dominica in 2011. During that time, two players, Virat Kohli and Rahul Dravid, were teammates in MS Dhoni’s team. Now, in a delicious twist of destiny, they find themselves back in Dominica, but in different roles. Kohli continues to playing as a player, while Dravid remains India’s head coach.
Virat Kohli just tweeted a heartwarming moment from their reunion. He captioned a photo of himself alongside Rahul Dravid, “The only two guys who were part of the last Test we played at Dominica in 2011.” We had no idea that our adventure would lead us back here in various ways. “I am extremely grateful.”
The 2011 match was declared a draw, with India falling short of a target of 180 runs in 32 overs on the last day, finishing at 94/3.
Interestingly, Kohli is the only part of the 2011 Test squad who is now playing in the Caribbean.
India will play two Tests, three ODIs, and five T20Is during the tour.
