Prior to the meeting, the NDMC (New Delhi Municipal Council) has removed the posters and hoardings featuring NCP President Sharad Pawar. The posters near Maulana Azad Road circle and Janpath circle have been taken down.
Ajit has taken lead over Sharad Pawar
Following the division within the NCP, both Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar held separate party meetings the day before. These meetings were attended by many leaders and party members. However, Ajit, the nephew, gained the upper hand over Sharad. This was evident as 32 out of 53 NCP MLAs attended Ajit’s meeting, while only 16 MLAs were present at Sharad Pawar’s meeting.
Out of the remaining five MLAs, four were unable to attend either meeting. Additionally, one MLA named Nawab Malik is currently in jail.
