Nawazuddin Siddiqui gives his reaction on “The Kerala Story” ban and said it should bring people together, not separate them as in my opinion, it’s extremely wrong.
Despite receiving mixed reviews, “Adah Sharma’s The Kerala Story” movie, has been a massive success and become the second-highest-grossing film of the year. On the other hand, it faced opposition from politicians and bans in some states. However director Anurag Kashyap recently wrote a cryptic dig, “Whether you agree with the film or not, it’s propaganda, counter-propaganda, iobscene or not, to ban it is just wrong.”

Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who starred of “Gangs of Wasseypur” give his reaction on the director’s statement. Talking with News 18, “he said i am agree with Anurag Kashyap. If a film or book causes harm to someone, It’s extremely wrong. He said that the purpose of making films is not to hurt the audience or their feelings.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui believes that movies should bring people connect the world, not break it. He explained that the purpose of making films is to promote social harmony and love among people. He strongly believes that nothing should be banned in this world. However, if a film has the potential to disrupt unity and social harmony, It’s extremely wrong. Humy isse duniya ko jodna h, todna nhi h (We have to connect the world with it, not break it).”
The controversial blockbuster “The Kerala Story” faces bans and criticism.
The Supreme Court lifted the ban on The Kerala Story in West Bengal over a week ago. However, the film faced difficulties in getting released in the state due to threats and pressure on the makers and distributors, who were told not to screen the controversial film. Fortunately, the film has now secured a theater in West Bengal, as confirmed by its music director, who is from the state.
Brief about the Kerala story
The Kerala Story, directed by Sudipto Sen, tells the story of women who are manipulated and forced to convert to Islam by ISIS. On box office the film is doing well at the box office, and on the other side it receiving criticism for its storyteline and also was accused of being a propaganda slice by political leaders. However, film was released in theaters on May 5th.
